I have to qualify this…WE are the local RURAL vegans organizing gatherings…just a small handful get together, do demos, organize, host potucks, etc. No formal groups.

I know a lot of vegans around my area. There are great vegan options in our regular stores and a restaurant, and health food stores too.We have Wegman's grocery which has a specialty section and you can get just about anything you want, such as tooth paste, deodortant, shampoo, all sorts of vegan meats, cheeses, milks, egg replacer....They even have their own V on their products so you know which ones are vegan. :)

There are 2 groups: Vegetarians and Vegans of Oklahoma and a Meetup Group Plant Based OK. Overall though I consider myself isolated from Vegans because most in the first group were vegetarian and the second group is primarily about diet

I sometimes succumb to dairy products when eating out since it is a challenge in Denmark to get even vegetarian food in restaurants, and I'm allergic to some good vegan products like nuts and soya.

its very hard to buy vegan foods like seitan or tofu in the supermarkets here :-( the big towns are full of it, but in the middle of nowhere vegans have a hard time at the supermarkets...the few things they offer for "us" are very expensive

  1. This is pretty interesting, from Vegan being normal in Germany, to the unfortunate soul who lives in a community of hunters, fishers, and meat eaters, to those who don't care if other vegans live nearby.
