VEGANS ARE MAKING HISTORY
by BEING ON THE RIGHT SIDE of a SOCIALLY-ACCEPTED WRONG.
White Rose Resistance to Hitler; center; Sophie Scholl ~ 1932
During the German Nazi regime - would you have been one of the honest and brave people like Sophie Scholl or the other members of the White Rose resistance to Hitler; who risked their lives to let others know about the ethnic persecution and the mass murdering that was taking place? So very sadly, Sophie Scholl was beheaded at the age of 28 by the Nazi’s for informing fellow citizens about these crimes against humanity. Other citizens helped in a smaller way; like the store owner pictured below. Would you have been someone who went along with the socially-accepted wrongs of that period?
In Germany now, Sophie Scholl is regarded as a hero, a Christian, who actively denounced the Third Reich
During the time of the legal slave-trade - would you have gone along with the socially-accepted practice of legally owning another person? Or would you have tried to change perceptions of that time period with every breath you took? Would you have worked for the abolition of the slave-trade? Would you have gone along with those around you or would you have been an abolitionist?
If you lived when women could not vote, would you have been a suffragette campaigning for women’s right to vote? What if you lived when a woman (of Western Civilization) could not receive higher education? What if you lived when women did not receive equal pay for the same job, or at a time when they were the chattel of their father/husband – would you have gone along with the socially accepted sexist custom ~ or ~ be a pioneer of a nondiscriminatory way of living? Would you have been a feminist change-making voice above the crowd or would you have accepted what was socially-accepted of that time period?
What if you lived when these were the signs of the time?
